LKB is very pleased and grateful to accept the ASCE Long Island Branch’s 2021 Project of the Year Award-Bridges, for our construction inspection services on the Walt Whitman Road over I-495 Bridge Replacement.
This federally and state funded project was completed for the New York State Department of Transportation and entailed a full bridge replacement of the Walt Whitman Road Bridge over the Long Island Expressway (I-495) in the Town of Huntington, NY. The existing bridge was four simple spans consisting of a steel girder superstructure supported on reinforced concrete abutments and piers.
